Position Overview

Velocity Wellness & Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Davis, California. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing rehabilitation. Your main responsibilities will include implementing therapy plans designed by supervising physical therapists, monitoring patient progress, and providing education to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in gathering data through appropriate assessments, tests, and measurements during initial patient evaluations, ensuring accurate records and effective communication of findings.

• Implement therapy plans for assigned patients under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists, which may include executing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the use of modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.

• Regularly assess the effectiveness of therapy procedures and adjust treatment techniques based on patients' progress and responses, coordinating closely with the supervising therapist to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Monitor patients for any changes in status, reporting updates to the supervising therapist to ensure continuity of care and timely intervention when necessary.

• Facilitate coordination of treatment programs by collaborating with other professionals within the healthcare system, leveraging available community resources to best support our patients.

• Participate in clinical team meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and strategize multidisciplinary approaches for comprehensive care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our outpatient clinic serves a diverse clientele, including patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and chronic pain syndromes. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.

• A valid California Physical Therapy Assistant License must be obtained upon hire.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within the first 30 days of employment.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant will be given preference. Experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting is especially valuable, as it provides insights into the unique challenges and rewards inherent in this fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
