Pay Basis Pay Basis Monthly Job Summary The Maintenance Worker II provides sub-journeyman work in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair, tasks on one or more areas. Responsible for make ready duties in apartments & resident halls, maintenance and repair work of plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, air conditioning and refrigeration, landscape, furniture & equipment moving. Also responsible for the training of maintenance workers I’s. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs maintenance repair work on heating and air conditioning equipment. Performs semi-skilled electrical work. Conducts daily Inspections of assigned areas and makes repairs where necessary. Performs preventative maintenance for life safety & security devices. Performance emergency mechanical repairs until journeyman or supervisory personnel arrive. Performs routines work orders to make repairs and to building systems. Respond to storm & weather related needs for campus. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in performing a variety of sub-journeyman maintenance and repair tasks or the equivalent experience. Valid Texas driver license and three (3) years of driving history. Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or GED . Three plus (3+) years of experience in performing a variety of sub-journeyman maintenance and repair tasks. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively execute oral and written instruction. Knowledge of make-ready duties for multifamily housing, including sheet rock replacement and repair, paint, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, light carpentry, cabinetry, repairing ceramic tile, counter tops, vinyl tile and plank repairs, wall texture, door & hardware repairs and installation.
