The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing Accounting Team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who combines deep technical accounting expertise with a passion for building scalable, efficient accounting operations. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will oversee the monthly close, lead annual audits, drive process improvements, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and help scale the accounting function to support a high-growth, global SaaS business. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, and has demonstrated success implementing systems, automation, and best practices that improve accuracy, efficiency, and controls. What You'll Do Lead and manage the global monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Oversee the technical accounting and financial reporting function, including review of technical accounting whitepapers for non-standard or complex transactions and financial statements. Direct the engagement and performance of key service providers, including external auditors, international accounting firms, and state and local auditors. Serve as the primary point of contact for the annual audit, owning the preparation of PBC lists and audit deliverables for consolidated and international activities, and coordinating with external international accountants on foreign subsidiary compliance. Drive business process and system improvements, with a goal toward automation and efficiency, including the design and implementation of key systems, internal controls, global close efficiency, audit readiness, and management reporting. Assist with the preparation and implementation of accounting policies and “SOX-lite” flowcharts. About You Bachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA with 5+ years of public accounting and 7+ years of corporate accounting or finance experience at a pre-IPO or newly public software/SaaS company Must be able to think critically and recognize discrepancies through analysis Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiency Ability to prioritize and work proactively and independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Eager to get engaged on a variety of operational accounting activities and willing to directly take on administrative type projects Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $175,000.00 to $195,000.00, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. What Else? For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year.
