- Lead the Emergency and Critical Care service within a 24/7 specialty hospital while maintaining a clinical caseload.
- Set and uphold standards for medical quality, patient care, and client communication across the ER and hospitalist teams.
- Mentor, coach, and develop ER veterinarians and support staff; foster a positive, learning-focused culture.
- Collaborate with internal medicine, neurology, oncology, radiation oncology, ophthalmology, surgery, rehabilitation, and diagnostic teams on complex cases.
- Oversee ER operations, including protocol development, scheduling, triage processes, and continuous quality improvement.
- Utilize advanced diagnostics and therapies (MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiation therapy, rehabilitation) as clinically indicated.
- Participate in transfusion and critical care protocols and coordinate perioperative care.
- Contribute to service-level planning, budgeting awareness, and efficient workflow to support excellent outcomes and client service.
- Full-time position with a balanced mix of leadership duties and clinical shifts. Requirements
- DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Eligibility for, or current, licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Indiana
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine; prior leadership or mentorship experience strongly preferred
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care
