ARC Payroll Accountant

Overview The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people\'s lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives. ARC Command Headquarters is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support the ARCC Accountant with various payroll and accounting functions. Responsibilities Maintain payroll files and enter information into the Paychex and/or UKG system. Receive and maintain attendance records; audit eligibility/payment of paid absences; process payroll. Process Officer allowance forms for approval; prepare any needed hand checks; maintain file of housekeeping vouchers; review Paychex/UKG reports and W-2s for accuracy; compute Christmas bonuses; act as custodian for secondary petty cash fund. Balance payroll; reconcile Paychex records regarding health and voluntary benefits; complete quarterly pension remittance forms. Complete monthly operating bank reconciliation; process monthly and annual mileage logs; approve credit card transactions as directed. Attend training conferences as requested; be back up to the ARCC Accountant. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 5 years’ experience in payroll/accounting or similar position. Excellent attention to detail and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
