Duties and Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions. Take and record patient medical and dental histories and vital signs, and provide postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist Assist the dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment Provide patients with instructions for oral care following all dental treatment procedures Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health Take radiographs (x-rays) Perform various office tasks as necessary Requirements Proven experience as a dental assistant High school diploma; graduation from a recognized dental assistant school or training program preferred Certification for radiology as mandated by state regulations (where applicable) Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Strong communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable Benefits 401k Paid Time Off Paid Vacation Paid Holidays Dental care for individual and immediate family. #J-18808-Ljbffr I Love My Dentist
