The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is looking for a Fundraising Participant Specialist to empower our incredible community of supporters. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact and dedicated partner for our fundraising volunteers and participants, helping them navigate their peer-to-peer fundraising journeys from start to finish. Communication with our volunteers is highly interactive and typically handled by phone, email, and video calls. In collaboration with the Development team, you will implement strategic stewardship plans to enhance the participant experience, elevate top fundraisers, and drive meaningful engagement. Your work directly builds deep trust with our supporters and maximizes the funding available for life-saving childhood cancer research. Work Structure & Flexibility Southern California Candidates: This position offers excellent flexibility. You will operate on a hybrid schedule, coming into the Monrovia, CA office just 2 to 4 times a month. Note: During the initial training period, you may need to come into the office at least 4 times a week. Out-of-State Candidates: We are fully open to hiring out-of-state applicants who have proven experience working successfully in a fully remote environment. Participant Coaching & Concierge Support: Serve as a coach and provide high-touch concierge service to individual fundraising participants and top fundraisers, equipping them with tools to expand their personal networks. End-to-End Campaign Support: Help volunteers create local events and individual virtual head-shaving campaigns, guiding them through registration, donation processing, and peer-to-peer platform management. Strategic Outreach: In partnership with your supervisor, execute targeted outreach via email and phone with a special emphasis on high-potential participants, team captains, and League of Legendary Heroes members. Inquiry Management: Manage inbound communications from assigned email domains, responding to participant inquiries professionally and efficiently Data & Copywriting Collaboration: Track and analyze registration data to inform retention strategies, and collaborate with the communications team to draft monthly fundraising tips and distribution copy. Minimum Requirements Experience: 1–2+ years of dedicated customer service experience, alongside a solid understanding of fundraising and at least 2 years of exposure to volunteer environments. (Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent preferred but not required). Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, active-listening, public speaking, and written communication skills. You must be highly engaging and comfortable conducting proactive coaching and outreach over the phone, video calls, and email. Interpersonal Strengths: Proven ability to build long-term internal and external relationships, maintain a positive attitude under pressure, and exercise diplomacy, maturity, and good judgment. Technical Proficiency: Computer proficient with skilled knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a quick adaptability to tracking software and peer-to-peer fundraising platforms. Work Dynamics: A self-starter with excellent time management who works well independently but thrives in a collaborative team setup to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
