About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to create a future where individuals are not defined by their past records. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic fundraising leadership, partnering with the CEO to design and implement a long-term, diversified fundraising strategy. This includes managing and growing a portfolio of major donors and philanthropic partners, as well as overseeing the organization's donor communications and impact storytelling. The role demands a progressive fundraising professional with a proven track record in closing seven-figure gifts, a strategic thinker who can balance vision with execution, and a collaborative leader who values authentic relationship-building. The ideal Chief Development Officer will have a deep commitment to the company's mission and a belief in the power of second chances. They should be adept at working across departments to ensure fundraising and program goal alignment and have experience in a bipartisan or multi-stakeholder funding environment. The role requires a candidate with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of seeing new ways of doing things and with a strong focus on authentic and diverse philanthropic relationships. Personal qualities such as integrity, curiosity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire confidence and optimism are essential. The Chief Development Officer will also have the opportunity to shape the organization's next chapter of strategic growth and sustainability, and to build and lead a high-performing development team.
