This flexible contract position is tailored for professionals who are passionate about supporting the communication needs of students in a specialized educational setting.

This assignment focuses on a single, dedicated student—a 20-year-old who utilizes Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), specifically Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). You’ll provide targeted interventions and support, making a meaningful difference in the student’s language and life skills.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
• Experience with pediatric and/or adolescent populations, especially within school environments
• Familiarity with AAC systems, especially PECS, is essential
• Previous SLP experience in healthcare or school settings strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized speech-language therapy to one student during ESY sessions
• Assess, plan, and implement strategies tailored to the student’s communication goals
• Collaborate with staff and caregivers to maximize the use of AAC devices
• Document progress, maintain records, and adjust approaches as needed for optimal results
• Provide guidance and support for integrating communication strategies throughout daily activities

Role Details:

• Schedule: 1 hour per week, with flexibility in selecting the specific day and hour within session blocks
• Dates: June 8-26 and July 13-31, sessions offered Monday-Friday between 9am-3pm (flexible)
