Job Summary Makani Networks has a newly created position for a Senior System Test Engineer for its line of optimization appliances. This engineer will plan, execute, and report on tests performed on Makani’s appliances, which are to be deployed in a wide range of customer environments in conjunction with hardware from different vendors. System test plans in anticipation of each customer deployment will be unique. This position affords the opportunity to work with a wide variety of hardware, along with many different optimization, clustering, replication, and backup strategies. Requirements Hands‑on experience in development and test lab environments and demonstrated understanding of Interoperability, Boundary and System Testing. Testing experience, especially with wide‑area file services, but also with any or all of SAN, clustering, replication, RAID, and backup strategies. The successful candidate will understand clustering and its typical issues. Experience configuring, troubleshooting and operating optimization in a Linux environment. Ability to understand and troubleshoot Perl scripts. Ability to conduct disciplined testing of product versions in multiple optimization environments. Windows experience is a plus.
