CDR General Services is seeking an experienced STICK Welder to join our team in Port Allen, LA 70767. This role involves performing structural repairs and fabrication on vessels, barges, and other marine equipment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on shipyard or dry dock experience and is comfortable working in outdoor environments, confined spaces, and around water.

• Pay Rate: $25–$28 DOE

• Perform STICK welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and other materials in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal positions.
• Fabricate and repair structural components such as hulls, decks, frames, and bulkheads.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and job specifications.
• Prepare and clean surfaces using grinders, torches, and other tools.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality meets marine standards.
• Work safely at heights, over water, and in confined spaces as required.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow OSHA, company, and shipyard safety protocols at all times.

• Previous experience as a STICK (SMAW) welder in shipyard, dry dock, or marine environments required.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience with structural steel and marine fabrication.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow safety procedures strictly at all times.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
