Trades Worker

Responsibilities Assist skilled tradespersons in performing construction, maintenance, and repair tasks across various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, and HVAC systems. Independently complete basic construction and repair assignments using appropriate tools and materials, ensuring alignment with established procedures and safety standards. Set up, relocate, and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment to support maintenance and repair activities in various facility areas. Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment used in construction, including loading, unloading, and assisting in pavement and exterior repairs as needed. Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on facility systems and equipment, including motors, boilers, compressors, and heat exchangers, under the guidance of skilled tradespersons. Carry out basic electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical tasks that do not require a licensed professional, following instructions and safety protocols. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by cleaning tools, equipment, and work areas, and by properly documenting work completed, materials used, and time spent. Participate in maintenance stand‑by duties and respond to after‑hours service needs, contributing to the continuous operation and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications Demonstrate knowledge of and proficiency in the use, operation, and maintenance of both hand tools (e.g., pliers, hammers, screwdrivers) and hand‑held power tools (e.g., drills). Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity necessary for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. Apply proper methods for caring for tools and equipment, ensuring safety and longevity. Follow written and oral instructions accurately and effectively to complete assigned tasks. Maintain a calm, composed manner in emergency or high‑pressure situations. Work collaboratively and respectfully in a team setting while establishing and maintaining harmonious and tactful relationships with coworkers and others. Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working on ladders or scaffolds. Display physical stamina and endurance necessary for completing labor‑intensive duties in varying work environments. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; days off Saturday and Sunday.
