Remote Insurance Verification CoordinatorThe Insurance Verification Coordinator is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining prior authorizations, coordinating benefits, and determining patient financial responsibility for therapies and medications. This role works closely with patients, physician offices, and insurance companies to ensure accurate documentation, timely reimbursement, and an excellent patient experience.ResponsibilitiesVerify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coordination of benefits for referrals while maintaining accurate documentation.Complete prior authorizations and gather required clinical documentation from physician offices and insurance carriers.Communicate patient financial responsibility, including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance, and identify available financial assistance programs.Serve as a liaison between patients, provider offices, and insurance companies to resolve coverage, authorization, and reimbursement issues.Document all interactions and maintain compliance with billing, reimbursement, and insurance requirements.Essential Skills1+ year of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, revenue cycle, or a related healthcare support role.Experience obtaining benefits, submitting prior authorizations, and working directly with payors.Strong understanding of insurance coverage, eligibility verification, and coordination of benefits.Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency with data entry.High school diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or medical office environment.Familiarity with diagnosis codes, clinical documentation, and reimbursement processes.Ability to manage a high-volume workload while meeting productivity and quality metrics.Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Work EnvironmentThis is a fully remote position supporting insurance verification, prior authorizations, and reimbursement coordination for medications and therapies. Team members typically process 25+ referrals daily, maintain 95%+ accuracy standards, and collaborate regularly with patients, provider offices, and insurance plans. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM ET (11:00 AM to 8:00 PM CT). The environment is professional, collaborative, and focused on delivering high-quality patient support.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
