Shipping And Receiving LeadThe Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes verifying shipment contents, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring products are received and shipped in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.Essential FunctionsShipping Duties:Prepare and pack items for shipment according to company and carrier standardsCreate and print shipping labels and bills of ladingSchedule and coordinate pick-up with freight carriers and delivery services and coordinate with internal departmentsInspect outgoing packages for damage or mislabelingEnsure outgoing shipments are properly packed, labeled and documentedTrack shipments and resolve delivery issues when necessaryTrack shipments and resolve shipping discrepancies, delays and other logistical issuesReceiving Duties:Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoicesRecord shortages, overages, or damages and report discrepanciesReceive and label items for inventorySafely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipmentOrganize received goods into inventory or designated storage areasAdministrative & Inventory:Maintain and update records in the inventory management or ERP systemCollaborate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teamsEnsure compliance with safety regulations and proceduresOrganize and conduct cycle counts and audits of raw material and inventory as requiredTrain and oversee shipping/receiving staff to ensure efficient workflowGeneral guidelines:Follow company conduct rules and guidelinesOther duties as assignedIncentives:Benefits offered the first of the month following 30 days of employment, include: medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, paid time off (sick and vacation), 9 company holidays, 401(k), etc.Referral Rewards programRequirements:Previous experience (1+ year) in a lead or supervisory roleHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrior experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations preferredStrong organizational and record-keeping skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipmentExperience with ERP system (i.e. SAP, Oracle) is a plusStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of shipping procedures documentation and carrier requirementsExcellent communication and leadership skillsTraining and Experience:Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or warehouse softwareFamiliarity with shipping software and logistics platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS systems)Forklift certification is requiredWork Environment:Manufacturing warehouse environment with exposure to machinery, noise and varying temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
