2nd Shift Production Operator

Job Purpose Assemble, test, and pack components that are supplied to a variety of automotive manufacturers as well as internal customers. Provide customer satisfaction through on‑time delivery, quality, and continuous improvement. Provide operator support throughout the product lines to ensure optimal deployment of resources. 2nd shift position: Monday‑Friday 3:15pm‑11:30pm, with overtime during the week and Saturdays required; Sundays voluntary. Starting pay is $21.50 per hour, after four months $22.89 per hour, with a 2nd shift premium of $0.50 per hour. Full‑time with benefits. Key Responsibilities Manufacture, assemble, test and pack products following documented procedures. Inspect components and finished assemblies visually and mechanically using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Perform first‑piece approval processes following documented procedures. Actively participate in team activities, such as Kaizen and other manufacturing teams. Support and follow health, safety and environmental practices and policies. Support and practice world‑class manufacturing techniques (visual factory, JIT, etc.). Perform routine preventive maintenance activities. Continuously improve production throughput. Develop competencies and move throughout product lines as needed. Assist in improving first‑time quality (PPM) and reducing production scrap. Assume process ownership using SPC, check sheets, etc. Assist in training new production personnel. Support and follow quality policies and practices. Maintain good attendance on the job. Maintain orderly work area with respect to tools, equipment and personal belongings. Use required PPE and follow safety rules and procedures. Attend safety and health training sessions. Practice housekeeping (5S standards). Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Good safety and attendance record. Key Job Skills / Experience Basic math skills (calculate and use statistical data). Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to function and actively participate in a team‑oriented environment. PC literacy. Problem‑solving skills. Physical Demands Standing (2/3 of time), walking, talking, hearing, using hands or fingers to handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling (rare). Lift up to 35pounds. Vision required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Working Environmental Conditions Exposure to moderate heat, light dust and fumes. Adequate hearing protection required for 90decibels and above.
