Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient’s unique history and needs.
- Design and implement personalized treatment plans crafted to support trauma recovery and bolster resilience.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), ensuring therapeutic interventions are effective and relevant.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that provide patients with tools to process their experiences, cope effectively, and foster healing.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure seamless and integrated care for every client.
- Provide critical crisis intervention support, particularly during acute trauma-related incidents.
- Educate clients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with information about available resources.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continued learning opportunities that focus on trauma-informed care techniques.
- Stay informed about developments in trauma therapy to continuously improve your practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our focus is primarily on individuals who have experienced trauma. This role provides you with an opportunity to work closely with clients from various backgrounds, helping them navigate their emotions and recovery processes. You will be a pivotal part of each client’s healing journey, utilizing your skills to support their individual needs and ensure they achieve their mental health goals.
Qualifications
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with a focus on trauma.
- Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment practices.
- Proven expertise in delivering trauma-focused interventions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
- The ability to remain composed in high-stress scenarios, providing support as needed.
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools for therapy management.
- An ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of clinical experience with trauma-focused therapies and treatment modalities.
- Experience providing teletherapy and familiarity with telehealth platforms.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in trauma care.
Compensation and Benefits
