About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12 Hours, Days, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Proficient in reading strips and EKGs - Experience with Cystic Fibrosis and Sickle Cell patients preferred - Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills - Must be able to titrate drips - Experience with blood administration Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a busy, high-acuity telemetry unit. The unit cares for a variety of patients including surgical overflow, post-operative recovery, and those with complex medical needs. Patients may include individuals with Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle Cell disease, and bariatric complications. Nurses will work with a diverse patient population and must be comfortable handling emergencies, including codes. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6 and should be prepared for fast transitions from admission to discharge. Nurses are required to float to other medical-surgical telemetry floors as needed. There is a team approach to care, with support staff available to assist with vital signs and direct patient care. Communication with physicians and case management is vital for effective patient outcomes. Nurses will participate in daily discharge rounding and are expected to proactively address discharge barriers. The environment is fast-paced, requiring flexibility and strong collaboration skills amongst team members. Candidates must be open to the needs of the unit and willing to adapt to scheduling requirements, including weekend shifts.
