HR Intern Intern HR Sturtevant, WI, US 8 days ago Requisition ID: 1347 Job Title: Human Resources Intern (Part-time) Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resources Manager Location: Sturtevant, WI Position Summary The Human Resources Intern provides a variety of project support to the Human Resources team while gaining hands-on experience across multiple HR functions. This internship offers exposure to many different areas of the HR profession including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, training, records management, and general HR operations. Key Responsibilities & Expected Results Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work. Assist with light recruitment activities, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates in collaboration with talent acquisition team. Support onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing onboarding materials and coordinating orientation schedules and completing I9s. Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy. Assist with data entry and updates within HR Information Systems (HRIS). Help coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events. Support training and development activities and preparing materials. Assist with audits of personnel files and compliance documentation. Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other HR-related documents. Respond to day-to-day employee inquiries or direct them to the appropriate HR team member. Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Support updating policies and organization of policy roll-out. Support some light open enrollment activities with the benefits team. Responsible for some general administrative duties, including filing, scanning, and document management. Qualifications and Skills (Performance Oriented) Education and Experience Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or other related field, with at least a sophomore standing At least 1 year of progressive work or leadership experience preferred Strong organization and time-management skills Effective verbal and written communications Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion Diligent attention to detail and accuracy Strong willingness and eagerness to learn many areas of HR functions Ability to build professional relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization Bilingual in Mandarin or Spanish is a plus Technical Skills Proficiency with data reporting and excel preferred Familiarity with ADP, or other HRIS systems is a plus Familiarity with employment law and compliance is preferred Core Competencies Accountability for results Process discipline Creative and proactive problem solving Success Profile Enthusiasm for a job well done Adaptability in a fast-paced environment Collaborative and team oriented Customer - service mindset Growth mindset Openness to feedback and learning opportunities Working Conditions Onsite at a manufacturing facility Attributes for Success Hard work – tackle each task with determination, passion and creativity; the willingness to put in whatever effort is required to successfully complete the job at hand.
