How You'll Make An Impact In This Role

• Prepare the surgical operating suite with precise sterile draping, solutions, and instrumentation, creating an optimal and safe environment before the procedure begins.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by seamlessly handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, ensuring the procedure flows efficiently and without delay.
• Assist the clinical team with the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients, keeping patient comfort and safety the top priority.
• Maintain a highly organized surgical field and rigorously track instrument and sponge counts throughout the procedure to prevent complications and guarantee patient safety.
• Collaborate with the broader perioperative team to ensure a swift, safe room turnover, keeping the surgical schedule running smoothly for subsequent patients.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
