Enhance Communication Across Generations in Beautiful Florida – Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where every day you help individuals find their voice and redefine their futures. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Tampa, Florida, your impact transcends traditional therapy as you empower individuals to overcome challenges related to speech and swallowing. You'll witness firsthand the transformative power of communication—supporting children who are learning to express themselves, and assisting seniors in regaining their independence.
This position offers the rare chance to work with patients of all ages, blending outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient services. Whether your passion lies in nurturing early childhood communication, addressing adult neurological disorders, or providing geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, this role is tailored to allow you to thrive in your areas of expertise.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized measures and observational insights.
- Create individualized treatment strategies that focus on immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver dedicated speech therapy services concentrated on areas such as language, articulation, fluency, voice modulation, and dysphagia.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and medical professionals to develop unified treatment approaches.
- Provide educational resources and support to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical settings.
- Engage in occasional inpatient assessments and therapeutic interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the continuum.
- Maintain diligent and timely records, adhering to state and organizational frameworks.
- Stay engaged with the latest advancements in the field through continued learning and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA certified.
Licensures & Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
Skills Needed
- Strong foundation in evidence-based practices across diverse age groups, with deep expertise in developmental and acquired impairments in speech, language, and swallowing.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for connecting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to modify therapy techniques to suit varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment complemented by robust problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
Benefits Offered
- Competitive salary reflecting your experience and expertise.
- Flexible working hours to support a healthy work-life balance.
- Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric care.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday benefits.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Financial support for continuing education and professional development.
- A collaborative work environment centered on quality care and ongoing education.
A Journey That Inspires Change
In this role, you will do more than just practice; you will engage in a mission to transform lives through communication—restoring confidence, fostering connection, and creating joy through understanding.
Join a team that values collaboration over competition, where each clinician feels like family. Every individual you treat has a unique story, and we trust you to help them narrate their journey.
