Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: Day Shift
Salary: $125,000-$140,000 annually, based on experience
Travel: Local travel between multiple facilities required
Workforce: Approximately 300 employees
Direct Reports: 3-4 HR team members

Position Overview


Our client is seeking an experienced Regional Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across multiple locations in the Louisville area. This position will oversee approximately 300 employees and directly manage a team of 3-4 HR professionals.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a multi-site, union environment and must be comfortable working directly with operational leadership, union representatives, and employees. Experience administering and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead HR operations across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent policies and practices across locations.
• Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of 3-4 HR professionals.
• Serve as the primary HR partner to site and operational leadership.
• Manage union and employee relations , including interpretation and administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Partner with union leadership and management regarding grievances, disciplinary matters, workplace issues, and contract compliance.
• Lead and oversee employee disciplinary actions, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations .
• Provide guidance to managers regarding performance management and employee relations.
• Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of payroll issues.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and union agreements.
• Support workforce planning, recruiting, retention, succession planning, and employee development.
• Monitor turnover, attendance, staffing, payroll, and other key HR metrics.
• Travel regularly between assigned Louisville-area facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience , preferably within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or another operational environment.
• Prior experience supporting multiple locations or facilities strongly preferred.
• Union experience required.
• Hands-on experience interpreting and administering Collective Bargaining Agreements required.
• Experience handling grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations, and complex employee relations matters.
• Previous experience directly managing and developing HR employees required.
• Strong payroll knowledge and experience overseeing payroll processes.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations.
• Ability to work effectively with both hourly employees and senior operational leadership.
• Must be comfortable traveling between facilities as part of the regular workweek.

Compensation & Schedule

• Base Salary: $125,000-$140,000
• Full-time, day-shift position
• Local travel between multiple Louisville-area facilities
• Approximately 300 employees across the operation

The strongest candidate will be a hands-on HR leader who has worked in a unionized, multi-site operation and understands how to balance employee advocacy with the needs of the business. This person should be comfortable being visible on the floor, coaching managers, handling difficult employee relations issues, administering a CBA, and leading an HR team.
