Key Responsibilities

• Engage with patients to assess their physical conditions and symptoms accurately, utilizing active listening and empathetic communication.
• Diagnose movement dysfunctions through personalized evaluations and design individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and enhance mobility.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, instructing patients on proper techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Utilize modalities such as stimulation or massage therapy to promote healing and assist in pain management.
• Support patients in using necessary assistive devices, such as wheelchairs and walkers, to promote independence and mobility.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatment progress and setting measurable goals for rehabilitation.
• Educate patients and their families about in-home treatment options and ongoing exercises to continue their recovery journey beyond therapy sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will directly impact a diverse patient base, ranging from children to seniors, and those dealing with various diagnoses from orthopedic injuries to neurologic conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or rehabilitating from injuries, fostering their strength and mobility in a supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of advanced therapeutic techniques and patient management.
• Possession of a valid physical therapy license in the state of California, confirming your qualifications to practice.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative for effectively interacting with patients and documenting treatment accurately.

Preferred Experience
