Cost Accountant - Manufacturing

Cost Accountant – Manufacturing - Cumming, GAThe Cost Accountant supports financial and operational reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining standard cost systems, analyzing COGS and manufacturing variances, supporting ERP-driven reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The position works cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate costing, margin analysis, and inventory reporting while driving process improvements.Key Responsibilities:Assist in developing, maintaining, and analyzing standard costsPartner with sales to provide cost data for pricing and quoting decisionsImprove costing processes through cross-functional collaborationPrepare and distribute manufacturing reports including gross margin, yield, and aged inventoryMaintain monthly gross margin reportingPrepare month-end journal entries (COGS, E&O, PPV, and other manufacturing accounts)Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to manufacturing accountsCalculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalizationPerform monthly obsolescence analysis with Controller/CFOAnalyze COGS accounts monthlyQualifications:Bachelor's Degree requiredMinimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or related capacityExperience recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accountsStrong understanding of manufacturing variances and cost analysisBenefits:Competitive compensationGrowth within an expanding manufacturing operationCross-functional leadership exposureProfessional development opportunitiesCost Accountant in Cumming, GA supporting manufacturing, standard costing, COGS analysis, ERP reporting, and inventory control.
