Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to provide hospital-based coverage. The provider must be proficient as a first assist in the operating room, including endoscopic vein harvesting, and participate in 24-hour call coverage for emergent cardiothoracic cases.

Compensation:

Orientation: $110/hr On Call: $1,630 per 24 hours 24 Hour Holiday Call: $2,445 per 24 hours Call Back: $215/hr Holiday Call Back: $320/hr

Schedule Coverage Dates: July , 2026 August 7 9, 2026 August , 2026 24-hour coverage (7:00 AM 7:00 AM) Includes daytime surgical responsibilities and overnight call Practice Setting Hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery Responsibilities First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures Perform endoscopic vein harvesting Participate in 24-hour call coverage Respond to emergent operating room cases Manage phone call responsibilities while on call Practice Details Cardiothoracic surgery cases Coverage due to provider leave EMR Epic Requirements Board Certified Physician Assistant Active Nebraska license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification Extensive cardiothoracic surgery first assist experience Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting (required) Epic experience highly preferred Availability for the requested coverage dates Clean malpractice history highly preferred Additional Information Emergency privileges may be available Estimated credentialing timeframe: days Completed credentialing application must be returned within 48 hours of receipt Local candidates preferred; no flights Provider must indicate their travel city at the time of presentation
