Fiber Optic Technical Trainer (Data Center)

About the Role

We are seeking a Fiber Optic Technical Trainer (Data Center) to lead a hands-on training program preparing entry-level technicians for deployment in active data center environments.

In this role, you will deliver a structured 4-week training program focused on fiber optic installation, safety, and data center best practices. You will play a critical role in building the next generation of technicians supporting large-scale infrastructure environments for CBRE supporting Meta.

This is a 100% onsite, highly hands-on role —ideal for someone who has worked in the field and is ready to teach and mentor others.

Note: This role is not a traditional classroom training position. Candidates must have hands-on fiber installation experience and be comfortable working in a lab-based training environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily training sessions (classroom + hands-on labs)
• Teach entry-level technicians:
• Fiber installation (pulling, routing, dressing)
• Termination (LC, MPO/MTP)
• Basic testing and troubleshooting
• Data center safety and protocols
• Evaluate trainee performance and make pass/fail readiness decisions
• Enforce quality and installation standards aligned with data center environments
• Develop and improve training materials, lab exercises, and skill assessments
• Track trainee progress and report outcomes to program leadership
• Partner with internal teams to ensure successful technician deployment

What You Bring

• 5–8+ years of fiber optic or structured cabling experience
• Experience in data center or mission-critical environments strongly preferred
• Proven ability to train, mentor, or lead technicians
• Strong knowledge of fiber installation best practices and standards
• Ability to clearly explain and demonstrate hands-on tasks
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Certifications:

• BICSI Installer (or similar)
• Fiber optic certifications (e.g., CFOT)
• OSHA 10/30
