Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

$2815.20/week -

Job Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to women during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages, including handling emergency situations and assisting with procedures such as C-sections. They collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring maternal and fetal well-being.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform thorough physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, considering age, cultural background, and individual needs.
  
  
• 
  Develop and execute multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate clinical competence in managing perinatal emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia.
  
  
• 
  Monitor fetal and maternal health indicators, including fetal heart rate and amniotic fluid status, and respond promptly to abnormalities.
  
  
• 
  Manage labor pain using appropriate methods, support alternative pain control options, and assist with epidural placement and monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about all stages of perinatal care, addressing concerns and providing support.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current RN license in the state of practice.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of two years recent experience in labor and delivery.
  
  
• 
  Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.
  
  
• 
  Successful completion of Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or certification from AWHONN.
  
  
• 
  Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
