Senior Director of Finance (Fund Accounting) San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) THE OPPORTUNITY Our client is a premier private equity firm with a 20+ year track record and known for a high-intensity, deal-driven culture, focused on investing in the technology space. We are seeking a Senior Directorto lead the Fund Accounting function. This is a high-visibility leadership role that requires a "command of the funds" and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where the investment deal cycle dictates the pace of work. THE ROLE This individual will serve as a critical bridge between the finance function and the investment deal teams. The role demands a balance of sophisticated technical accounting and strategic team leadership. You will oversee a dedicated accounting team and ensure the financial integrity of complex fund structures. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive oversight for all fund entities, GPs, and specialized investment vehicles. Act as the technical lead,managing complex investor classes and intricate distribution waterfalls. Deal Team Partnership: Collaborate closely with investment professionals to provide real-time financial data and support shifting transaction timelines. Team Management: Direct and mentor an internal team, ensuring high-quality output and professional growth. Operational Integration: Coordinate between management company accounting and valuation teams to maintain firm-wide financial alignment. Process Excellence: Drive the design and enhancement of scalable financial models and analytical frameworks to support the firm’s continued growth. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on private equity and public accounting Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of fund accounting Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams and navigate high-pressure environments with shifting priorities. Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights for executive stakeholders. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; CPA preferred. Mindset: Highly motivated and resourceful with a "bias toward action" and the flexibility to meet the demands of a global deal business.
