Position: Peds/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN role in the Seattle area. This position involves supporting ground transportation needs for infants and pediatric patients, ensuring they receive a higher level of care as required.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Call: No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a transportation team, including respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers.
• Transport infants and pediatric patients from various units such as Emergency Rooms, Labor & Delivery, NICUs, and other hospitals in the area.
• May float to cover roles as a bedside nurse in the NICU, PICU, or pediatric units as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in pediatrics or neonatal care, including ground transportation experience.
• Charge Nurse Experience: Preferred
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS required
• Charting System Experience: Familiarity with Epic is required

Required Skills

• End-Tidal CO2 monitoring
• Management of ventilated patients
• Care and maintenance of an acute airway
• Central line blood draw
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• IV vasopressors management
• Pediatric dosage calculations
• Tracheostomy care
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)

General Information

The role involves working in a critical transport unit equipped with specialized transport equipment. The RN will collaborate with other healthcare professionals including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. Candidates must have a compact license valid in the state of Washington.

Patient Population

• Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, and Adolescents

Orientation and Training

Initial orientation and training will be provided, including the completion of necessary modules. All time spent on module training will be included in work hours.
