BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

Behavior TechnicianTo provide behavior support to students identified as having challenging behaviors. This would include students that experience sudden life changes that impact school; are high needs behavior students experiencing a transition (classroom or school level); have gone through the Behavior support Referral Process and had been identified as needing additional temporary support in order to implement specific aspect of their plans.Education and Experience:High School diploma or GED certificate48 semester hours of college creditExperience in challenging behavior or autismEssential Functions/Typical Tasks:To participate as part of the behavioral support team to develop plans for individual students.To be active in the implementation of behavior support plans for individual students.To assist in designing and creating student and classroom supportTo assist in collecting data on the effectiveness of support and interventionsTo assist in instruction of social and behavioral skills for individual students.Perform other duties as assigned. Communicate effectively to students and professional colleagues.Approach challenging behaviors from a positive support perspective.Monitor/BusPhysical Requirements:Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Position will require the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing and the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
