Job Summary EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Maintenance Helper in Washington, DC. The work initial schedule is: Sunday - Thursday: 7:00am to 3:00pm. (subject to shift changes at any time. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99. The Maintenance Helper will change Lightbulbs, perform minor repair duties as assigned by supervisor. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Replaces Light bulbs and performs maintenance under the supervision of assigned supervisor. Assist under direct supervision: With maintenance and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical With architectural and structural building components; interior and entrance doors and related componentsFloor systems, roof systems, and windows. Performs preventative maintenance functions which include but not limited to filters, cooling towers, heating and cooling coils, cleaning floor drains Other duties as needed Qualifications 1-2 Years in the maintenance field experience required Safely and skillfully use all types of related hand and power tools. Be able to understand written and oral instructions to perform the work required. Physical Demands Work Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75lbs) Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking. Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies. Manual dexterity and mobility. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
