Senior Operations ManagerUnder the general direction of the Executive Director of Operations, the Senior Operations Manager directs day-to-day district-wide field operations, site quality, and building readiness across all facilities; supervising maintenance, custodial, and single-site leadership personnel; overseeing emergency responses; and ensuring continuous operational excellence in alignment with district goals and regulatory requirements.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluates facility readiness programs, custodial quality standards, maintenance workflows, and operational procedures across all district sitesSupervises and leads assigned operational managers, and site leads through ongoing performance coaching, direct work coordination, regular team meetings, and in-service training.Communicates with the Executive Director of Operations, District Administrators, Building Principals, union representatives, contractors, vendors, and emergency responders for the purpose of coordinating district field operations, resolving operational conflicts, and exchanging information.Implements morning building readiness protocols, daily operational initiatives, safety compliance programs, and emergency response procedures in compliance with district guidelines, board policies, and regulatory requirements.Inspects repair work, work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, custodial cleanliness, and grounds conditions across all facilities to ensure quality standards are met.Prepares operational tracking reports, work schedules, facility audit metrics, incident documentation, and performance evaluations.Prepares cost estimates, simple plans, and specifications for competitive bidding on maintenance/improvement projects; determines whether work is executed in-house or via third-party contractors.Assist in Performing Life Safety inspections. Reviews plans and specifications for remodeling, new construction and makes recommendations for changes.Oversees approved maintenance and construction projects to ensure quality workmanship, contractor compliance, and timely completion.Assists in developing the annual operations budget, manages expenditure plans, recommends equipment purchases, and maintains accurate departmental inventory records.Ensures departmental operations comply with local building codes, fire codes, OSHA, EPA regulations, state guidelines, and collective bargaining agreements.Coordinates operational logistics for district-wide events, community rentals, and athletic programs in partnership with site administrators and operations staff.Maintains up-to-date project archives, operation manuals, building drawings, equipment catalogs, and facility records.Promotes exceptional customer service by responding promptly to requests from building principals, district staff, and community members while maintaining a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.Responds to facility emergencies, utility failures, severe weather events (snow/salting), and security alarms; remains on call 24/7 for urgent district needs.Shall assume any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by supervisor and supervisor may make any adjustments in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above which will be in the best interest of the school district.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
