Snowflake Platform Engineer (Mequon)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Snowflake Platform Engineer to help strengthen and optimize an existing Snowflake environment. This consultant will assess the platform’s current structure, recommend best practices, support improvements, and transfer knowledge to the internal team.

The ideal candidate understands how to design, organize, secure, and operate a scalable Snowflake platform. Experience using Snowflake’s native AI capabilities is helpful, but deep AI or machine learning expertise is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the current Snowflake environment and identify opportunities for improvement
• Recommend and implement Snowflake architecture and platform best practices
• Help organize databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, and data-access patterns
• Improve platform scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency
• Advise the team on how to structure the platform to support AI use cases
• Provide guidance on Snowflake’s native AI and data capabilities
• Create platform documentation, standards, and operating procedures
• Troubleshoot platform-related issues and recommend sustainable solution
• Provide hands-on knowledge transfer and mentoring to internal team members

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, or supporting Snowflake platforms
• Solid understanding of Snowflake architecture and administration
• Experience with platform structure, security, role-based access, performance, and cost optimization
• Ability to assess an existing environment and translate findings into practical recommendations
• Familiarity with Snowflake’s native AI capabilities and how to prepare the platform for AI use cases
• Strong documentation, communication, and knowledge-transfer skills
• Ability to work onsite in Mequon one to two days per week
