About the RoleAs a Platform Engineer, you will design, build and maintain the infrastructure and services that power Kohl’s applications and create scalable, reliable, and secure platforms that support Kohl’s growing business needs. What You’ll DoDevelop, test, deploy and iteratively improve platform capabilities, features, and APIs in collaboration with designers, product managers, end-users and other engineers on the platform teamLeverage critical thinking, experimentation, data, end-user feedback and industry best practices to achieve desired business outcomesDevelop and integrate high-quality platform services that are secure, simple to use, easy to operate, difficult to break, fully integrated and extremely observable with measurable resultsTake responsibility for all technical aspects of the platform services lifecycle, including code, infrastructure, data, security, CICD, support and easy-to-read documentationImprove and simplify the platform user experience for development teamsContribute to platform engineering and software standardsContinuously develop self and support the development of othersStreamline Kohl’s development processes, improve system performance and ensure the high availability of servicesLeverage your understanding of cloud technologies, automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices to build and manage complex systemsOptimize CI/CD pipelines, enhancing monitoring and logging frameworks and contributing to Kohl’s platform's overall architecture and technical strategyAdditional tasks may be assignedAddendumPLATFORM ENGINEER (EUC)Experience with device management tools such as Workspace ONE, Intune, Jamf Pro, etc.Experience administering Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS at scaleGeneral understanding of device security, networking, patch management, and application deployment. What Skills You HaveRequiredExperience with object-oriented development using Java, Go, or PythonExperience with Kubernetes (Can include distributions such as Red Hat Openshift, Amazon EKS, Google GKE, Tanzu TKG, etc...)Experience using Git as a daily source code control versioningBackground in software development and working knowledge of cloud computing conceptsDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies or techniques quickly Open-minded approaches to problem-solving centered around the needs of the customer PreferredBachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field 2+ years of experience in software or infrastructure platform development Knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture and testing strategies Experience working with major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) Knowledge and experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development Knowledge and experience working with platform as code and GitOps methodologiesJob SummaryJob number: R489080Profession: Technology
