EVS Lead

Primary City/State: Mesa, Arizona Department Name: Environmental Svcs-Hosp Work Shift: Night Job Category: Facilities, Environmental Services, and Culinary Position Summary This position provides leadership and training for environmental services associates, while working as a member of the EVS Associate team. Core Functions Ensure staffing plans are carried out properly and all areas are staffed appropriately. Plan hospital-wide projects, maintain consistent service delivery, and provide input on quality and timeliness. Perform cleaning functions in patient rooms, specialty areas, and common areas. Work closely with supervisors to train, retrain, recruit, retain, and develop the Environmental Services team, fostering a culture of core values and operational policies. May supervise staff in the absence of the Environmental Services Leader, make work assignments, respond to immediate needs, reorganize facilities, and set up rooms for meetings and special functions. Assist supervisors in performing Quality Assurance Inspections for review and correction of deficiencies. Distribute linens and supplies as needed; take inventories in assigned areas. Work independently with general supervision, oversee daily activities of a team, make staffing assignments in absence of supervisor, coordinate cleaning projects, assist with training, and provide input to performance evaluations. Minimum Qualifications Two or more years of related experience in healthcare environmental services. Leadership skills and effective verbal and written communication. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Role model in customer service, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene. Applicable Arizona criminal background clearance such as Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit for certain locations. Preferred Qualifications Basic computer skills in word processing and electronic mail. Additional related education and/or experience. Shift Details Fulltime | 40 Hours/Week 11pm-7:30am Weekend and holiday rotations required. Flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential.
