The Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (Bureau) is looking for a talented individual who is highly motivated, has excellent communication skills and wants to join a diverse, hard-working team. If you can multi-task and have a strong desire to learn, we want to learn more about you.
Under the supervision of the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (Bureau) Compliance Manager, Supervisor I, the Compliance Analyst, Analyst I, reviews and inspects the less complex Bureau approved educational institutions for compliance with the provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 and Bureau regulations.

Working Conditions
The incumbent may be required to travel throughout an assigned geographical area by various methods of transportation.
The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. A remote-centered (more than 50% telework) flexible schedule may be available for this position. The position headquarters is in Sacramento, CA.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.
Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

5) Demonstrated ability to effectively prepare and proofread written documents, including formal reports.
6) Ability to exercise good judgment, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
7) Excellent organizational and time management skills.
8) Ability to develop and evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and present ideas and information effectively.
9) Excellent conflict resolution skills, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, self awareness and a passion to help others.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing and should be typed not to be more than two (2) pages, using 11-pt Arial font. It must also contain a header listing your CalCareer ID number, position number and job control number listed according to the job advertisement.

1. Describe your experience compiling, interpreting and analyzing statutes, regulation and other pertinent information to reach a conclusion, make recommendations and execute a solution.
2. Describe your report writing experience. Provide specific examples of the types of reports you provided management.
3. Describe your experience in working independently, including how you maintain productivity and accuracy in your work product.
4. Describe your interest in a position working as a field inspector that requires frequent travel throughout California.
