SENIOR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Senior Licensed Practical Nurse - 64029099This is a float position, and the successful incumbent will work with clients in busy DOH clinics, while working within the scope of Florida State and Federal Guidelines and DOH-Pinellas policies and procedures. Applicants must be willing to travel to five different clinic locations in Pinellas County.Your Specific Responsibilities:Adult and children's immunizationsObtain patient medical history and vital signsCase ManagementAdminister medication ordered by the providerEducates and provide information regarding family planning, STD screening and treatment servicesRespond with other clinical staff to emergency situations that occur in clinicWork with clinic manager to assure efficient clinic flowUtilize an EMR to document client visitsPerform EKG's, Spirometry, and other medical office testsPerforms other duties as requiredKeeps supervisor informedAttends staff meetings as requiredAttends training for personal and professional growthMeets annual training requirementsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices & techniques.Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignmentsAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved DOH abbreviations when documenting in the electronic medical recordAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersAbility to operate a personal computer and accompanying software programsAbility to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensureAbility to work with persons of a different race, language, culture, or socioeconomic statusAbility to make sound nursing judgments independentlyAbility to adapt to necessary changes in duties, duty station, or work hours for the benefit of the agencyAbility to deal effectively with customers of various types of backgrounds and cultures.Ability to learn and maintain proficiency of computer skills & new programs required by Medical and Clinical Services divisionsSkills in one-on-one interviewing; ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EMR systemQualifications:Minimum - Current active Florida nursing license or a multistate license from another compact state per The Florida Nurse Practice Act, as outlined in Chapter 464Current valid Florida Driver's License or able to obtain one within 30 days of employmentAccess to private transportation and willing to travel to other locations and provide coverage as neededAt least 1 year EMR experiencePreferred - 1 year experience working in a fast-paced medical office.Six months' experience working in a Primary Care clinicSix months' experience giving adult and children's immunizationsAt least 1 year experience working as an LPNWhere You Will Work:St. Petersburg Center of the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County 205 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr St N.
