Ag Service Technician Apprentice

Position Specifics Reports To: Service Manager Supervises: None FLSA Code: Nonexempt Purpose Trains with an experienced service technician for a year to learn how to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. Ideal candidate will have reliable attendance and a strong willingness to learn about mechanics. Responsibilities Learns and performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment Participates in company provided training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge Learns knowledge of John Deere and competitive products Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties Job Requirements Must be an energetic person who has a desire to learn about mechanics Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures Proficient oral and written communication skills Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes Ability to use computer applications Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred Valid driver's license required along with a good driving record Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment Must have reliable attendance Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays Full-Time Benefit Packages Paid Holidays & Vacation Time Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance Life Insurance 401K Plan with Company Match Routine Performance & Pay Reviews Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Safety Equipment Allowance Company Provided Uniforms All benefits subject to change. Pay Information The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made. Work Hours In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm OR 7am-3pm (rotation determined by store). In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store. Extended Hours are determined by the needs of the store and subject to change. Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm. Off Season Hours are from November-March.
