CHB Operations Associate

As a CHB Operations Associate, you play a critical role in ensuring our customers’ imports move smoothly, compliantly, and on time. You will manage end‑to‑end customs brokerage operations for a dedicated portfolio of accounts, partnering closely with customers, carriers, government agencies, and internal teams. Responsibilities Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, responding to questions and providing timely, accurate shipment updates. Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries and Partner Government Agency (PGA) filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance. Open and manage entry files in alignment with defined KPIs and service standards. Coordinate shipment clearance with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and container freight stations (CFS) to ensure timely release. Track and trace inbound shipments from port or airport through final delivery. Ensure all required documentation and entry packages are accurately uploaded into operating systems. Complete customer billing, delivery orders, and required operational reports. Maintain and update customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed. Collaborate closely with teammates and cross‑functional partners to support coverage, cross‑training, and peak‑volume needs. Success Metrics Timely and accurate processing of shipments within agreed KPIs. High attention to detail and data accuracy. Strong adherence to company policies and all CBP and PGA regulations. Proactive communication and follow‑through with customers and internal partners. Reliable submission of delivery orders and required documentation. Impact Customer experience & quality – delivering on service commitments and building trust. Compliance & process maturity – ensuring regulatory adherence and operational consistency. Operational efficiency & cost control – supporting productivity and standardized processes.Technology adoption – contributing to continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives. Who You’ll Work With Internal partners include: CHB Operations Managers and Leaders Senior CHB Operations Associates Regional CHB Leadership Program and Implementation Managers CHB Compliance and IT teams External partners include: Assigned customs brokerage customers Government agencies (CBP, FDA, USDA, and others) CHB systems and technology vendors Qualifications Required: 6–12 months of customs brokerage or related industry experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working under pressure Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Team‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience) Preferred: At least 2 years in a CHB or operational support environment Customs House Broker License (preferred but not required) Prior experience with regulatory filings such as PGA Salary: $56,000 - $60,000* Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
