Technical Lead

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee a cross-functional team responsible for platform maintenance and light feature evolution. This role requires a broad understanding of the entire tech stack, the ability to coordinate across frontend, backend, mobile, and DevOps disciplines, and strong communication skills to interface with client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a distributed team of frontend, backend, mobile, and DevOps engineers
• Provide architectural guidance across all layers of the platform
• Drive technical decision-making and ensure alignment with the client’s engineering guidelines and product roadmap
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact between the delivery team and client stakeholders
• Identify technical risks and proactively propose mitigation strategies
• Facilitate sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives in collaboration with project management

Tech Stack

• React Native (with limited native modules) for mobile applications
• Next.js (SSR) with React for web frontend
• Sanity (headless CMS) for content management
• TypeScript / Fastify for backend services
• Elasticsearch for personalization and caching
• Redis / Valkey for key-value caching
• GCP infrastructure: Kubernetes and Cloud Run

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• 3+ years in a technical lead or architect role managing cross-functional teams
• Strong proficiency across full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems (React, Next.js, Node.js, Fastify)
• Working knowledge of React Native and mobile development workflows
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (GCP preferred) (Kubernetes, Cloud Run)
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Redis/Valkey, and headless CMS platforms (Sanity preferred)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across US time zones

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in sports, media, or entertainment platforms
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
• Familiarity with performance optimization and caching strategies at scale
