Areti is working exclusively with a leading international consultancy specialising in financial services transformation, partnering with banks, asset managers, insurers, and wealth management firms across the UK and global markets.

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Compliance Architect to lead the design and governance of modern workplace, collaboration, and compliance solutions across complex enterprise environments. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how organisations securely collaborate, manage information, and meet regulatory obligations within the Microsoft ecosystem.

The Role

As the Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Compliance Architect, you will be responsible for defining and delivering collaboration, information governance, and compliance strategies across Microsoft 365. You will work closely with business stakeholders, security teams, and technical delivery functions to optimise collaboration services while ensuring data protection, compliance, and governance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of Microsoft 365 collaboration solutions across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
• Define enterprise governance frameworks for collaboration, information management, and content lifecycle management.
• Design and implement data protection and compliance strategies using Microsoft Purview.
• Develop solutions around Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, Sensitivity Labels, Retention Policies, eDiscovery, and Records Management.
• Establish security and compliance controls aligned with regulatory and organisational requirements.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies while maintaining governance and security standards.
• Provide architectural guidance for Microsoft 365 tenant-wide collaboration and document management initiatives.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, and business teams to define strategic roadmaps and best practices.
• Act as the senior subject matter expert for collaboration, compliance, and information governance services.

Required Experience

• Extensive experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms within enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange Online.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Purview and associated compliance technologies.
• Experience implementing DLP, Sensitivity Labels, Retention Policies, eDiscovery, and Information Governance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance best practices.
• Experience operating within highly regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and consulting skills.
• Microsoft 365, Security, or Compliance certifications would be highly advantageous.
