Assistant Controller

Unified Talent Group is partnered with a well known manufacturing company in the Wichita KS area, in search of an experienced Assistant Controller to support financial operations, reporting, accounting controls, and month-end close activities. Reporting to the Controller, this position will oversee daily accounting functions and help ensure financial systems, records, policies, and procedures remain accurate, efficient, and compliant with applicable accounting standards and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support month-end close and daily accounting activities Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions Assist with daily banking and cash management requirements Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly internal reporting schedules Support accurate and timely internal and external audits Prepare and review account reconciliations across the organization Maintain customer credit information and monitor accounts receivable aging and credit exposure Coordinate monthly physical inventory activities and related accounting transactions Partner with operational teams to investigate variances and maintain accurate inventory and cost information Research accounting policies and provide guidance regarding non-routine transactions Develop and improve financial systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls Identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency, accuracy, and resource utilization Train and support new and existing accounting employees Participate in special projects, acquisitions, business-unit support, and financial reporting as needed SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience Experience supporting operational or plant-level accounting functions preferred Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and internal controls Experience supporting month-end close and audit processes Strong analytical, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to interpret accounting policies and apply them to operational issues Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally when needed WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
