This position supports the orchestra program at the middle school level by assisting in the delivery of music instruction to individual students and small groups. Key responsibilities include tuning instruments, guiding warm-up exercises, and modeling proper technique and posture for students on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Additionally, the aide will assist with clerical tasks as needed. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the educational experience for students within the orchestra program.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledges and abilities stated above, and the ability to perform the duties of the position. Education: Graduation from high school and the equivalent of two years of college or an AA degree, supplemented by private or college-level training in music theory. Bachelor's degree in music or related field and three years of experience in a music program preferred. Experience: One year in a music teaching environment; musical ensemble playing experience for at least two years preferred. License(s), certifications or other requirements: • Valid California Class C Driver's License.
