Travel RN - Med/Surg Tele

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position specializing in orthopedic, spine, neuro, and cardiac patients on a night shift schedule.

Job Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients,
• Unit also serves as a secondary stroke unit and cares for general cardiac/telemetry patients,
• Patients are admitted from the PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from physician offices,
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week),

Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a Compact state currently in hand,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation,
• Orthopedic, spine, neuro, or telemetry experience required,
• Minimum education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN); BSN preferred,
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care teams,
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures,
• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities,
• RNs are expected to delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the execution of the care plan,
• Active participation in unit-based quality improvement initiatives is expected, including monitoring for patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and patient satisfaction,
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
