NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position focuses on providing high-quality care to newborns in a Level 2 NICU environment.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday Requirements: May be required to participate in the holiday rotation
• Orientation: 1-3 shifts with a preceptor

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Level of NICU: Level 2
• Number of Beds: 6
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3 babies

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for newborns with various conditions, including but not limited to:
• Hypoglycemia
• IV antibiotics
• Mild respiratory distress
• Phototherapy
• Pre-term babies adjusting to bottle feeding and weight gain
• Withdrawal from maternal drug use
• Attend C-sections and vaginal deliveries, focused on the care of the newborn.
• Care for stable postpartum mothers and babies as needed, with training provided if not experienced.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required.
• Prior travel experience preferred.
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

• Shifts are scheduled by leadership for 6 weeks at a time, and flexibility is expected.
• Time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment.
• Travelers may be floated to different units if census is low or extra assistance is required.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Blue hospital scrubs provided.
