Medical Technologist

Role: Medical Technologist responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and analyses. Responsibilities Conducts chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests. Analyzes body fluids and cells, matches blood for transfusions, and ensures compliance with blood bank standards. Prepares specimens, counts cells, and detects abnormalities in samples. Interprets test results and communicates findings to physicians. Creates cultures to identify microorganisms and tests chemical content, such as glucose and cholesterol levels. Develops, evaluates, and monitors testing procedures for accuracy. Maintains safety protocols to handle biohazardous materials and manages supplies and equipment. Records patient data, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and may oversee departmental functions. Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology and certification from recognized agencies (AMT, ASCP, NCA). Current BLS certification and at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience. Experience in direct patient care and familiarity with lab safety and quality standards. Proficiency with computers, MS Office, and laboratory equipment. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to changing work requirements and multitask effectively. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for at least 3 of the past 5 years. Additional Requirements Preferred: Department of Homeland Security clearance and bilingual in Spanish and English.
