Database Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to support a major Securities-Backed Lending (SBL) platform implementation. The project will implement Supernova’s SBL system, integrate with lending, brokerage, and trust platforms, automate underwriting and decisioning processes, and replace the existing FastNet/Broadridge collateral monitoring system. The DBA will be responsible for the design, administration, monitoring, security, availability, and performance of enterprise SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across Windows-based on-premises and cloud environments.
\n
• Monitor production databases to ensure high availability, reliability, security, and performance.
\n
• Perform SQL Server performance tuning and query optimization and proactively identify performance bottlenecks.
\n
• Implement and support high-availability technologies including Always On, clustering, mirroring, and replication.
\n
• Develop, manage, and test database backup, recovery, restore, and data refresh processes.
\n
• Manage database objects including schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, and integrity constraints.
\n
• Review database schemas, stored procedures, DDL changes, and database designs.
\n
• Create, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot SSIS packages.
\n
• Develop and maintain SQL/T-SQL stored procedures and scripts.
\n
• Support database security, access controls, and data integrity.
\n
• Partner with application developers, business intelligence, analytics, and infrastructure teams.
\n
• Recommend and implement database configuration and architecture improvements.
\n
• Develop and maintain database standards, procedures, configuration guidelines, and best practices.
\n
• Support automation and database administration activities using PowerShell and related scripting tools.
\n

Required Qualifications:

\n
• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including SQL Server 2012 or newer.
\n
• 5+ years supporting production database environments.
\n
• Strong experience with SQL Server high availability, including Always On, clustering, mirroring, and/or replication.
\n
• Strong SQL and T-SQL programming experience.
\n
• Experience with Azure cloud database design and implementation.
\n
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, table design, and index design.
\n
• Hands-on experience creating, configuring, and troubleshooting SSIS packages.
\n
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and database automation.
\n
• Experience with database backup, recovery, restores, and automated data refreshes.
\n
• Experience with database monitoring and performance management solutions.
\n
• Knowledge of infrastructure and hardware concepts including servers, networks, SAN, RAID, and I/O subsystems.
