Job Description A growing engineering consulting and inspection firm is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Structural Steel Inspector to support an expanding portfolio of commercial construction projects throughout the DMV region. Company Overview Stable and growing company with a strong project backlog Local projects throughout the DMV region Competitive compensation and benefits package Opportunities for professional development and advancement Collaborative team environment with experienced industry professionals Long‑term career growth with a well‑established organization Responsibilities Perform structural steel inspections and testing during erection activities Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements Document inspection findings and prepare detailed field reports Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, and test results Promote quality, safety, and professionalism on all project sites Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites Ability to lift and/or move up to 6080 pounds Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as project needs require Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and structural steel erection AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required ICC High Strength Bolting Certification required ASNT Level II certifications in PT, MT, and UT methods required Strong understanding of AWS and AISC specifications Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents Excellent verbal and written communication skills Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Reliable transportation suitable for construction site visits Preferred Qualifications Experience with additional inspection disciplines including concrete, soils, fireproofing, or related construction materials Familiarity with ANSI B31.1, B31.9, and AWS D1.5 standards Benefits Competitive hourly pay $35-$45/hour based on experience and certifications OT available Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Life insurance Employee referral program ESOP Additional benefits discussed during the interview process #J-18808-Ljbffr NPAworldwide
