Job Overview: As the Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the operations of a job shop repair facility. This position entails directing shop mechanics and machinists, contributing to meeting the organization's financial goals, and assuming a leadership role within the management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate leadership by effectively communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the area or business segment. Utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and contribute to both short‑term and long‑term business goals. Maintain care, custody, control, and safe operation and maintenance of the shop, equipment, and staff. Establish and uphold a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Develop and implement procedures and systems to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the shop by personnel. Manage the annual budget and monitor shop expenditures appropriately. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate an effective workforce, delegating and monitoring work activities for safe and efficient facility operation. Oversee the hiring, evaluation, and work activities of contractors/subcontractors for maintenance and repair activities. Take responsibility for all aspects of customer order management, including proposal development, risk management, specification compliance, pricing, negotiations, communications, and issue resolution. Collaborate with sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that meet customer requirements and business goals. Achieve revenue, profitability, utilization, and budget targets. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in a support or field engineering role. Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role, with 2-5 years of experience in General Operations Support, Machine Shop Management, or Operations Management. Additional experience in industrial/utility/power plant systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and climb ladders and stairs. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to influence others, lead small teams, and identify individual strengths to maximize team performance. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
