We have been recycling metal in Lane County for over 25 years and are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.We are looking for a friendly, reliable, hard-working person to join our team immediately.Job Summary: Quality Control greets, directs, and assists customers—grading materials, identifying prohibited items, and coordinating with scale and equipment operators.General Responsibilities:Inspect inbound and outbound loadsMaterial grading – ensure products meet specifications and sort/separate accordinglyProhibited materials (sealed containers, hazardous materials, explosives, etc.)Direct and assist customers with material unloadingDirect traffic effectivelyCommunicate clearly and efficiently via radio to scale and equipment operatorsUse forklifts for unloading assistancePhysical Demands:Frequently required to reach with hands and armsAble to talk and hearStanding, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and graspingDexterity of hands and fingersLift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet.Exposed to moving mechanical partsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loudExperience & Qualifications:Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications18 years of ageExperience in scrapyard preferred but not requiredSelf-motivated and eager to learnReliable with the ability to adhere to a work scheduleForklift certification (Preferred)What We Offer:PTO starts at 2 weeks per year and increases with years of service8 paid holidaysCompany-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insuranceAnnual safety boot reimbursement401kFree gym membershipStarting pay 18-19/hr DOE Full time position at 40 hours per week
