Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Seattle, WA.Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 5:30 AM - 2:00 PMJob ResponsibilitiesReceive and sort clinical lab specimensClarify specimen sites and testingPrepare specimens for testing and analysisScan and/or data entry of specimen and patient informationEnsure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenanceTroubleshoot any specimen related issuesRequest clinical notes and history as requested by pathologistsPrepare and send out specimens for additional testingSend and receive material for second opinionsReplenish test bench supplies as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentComplete record logs and other administrative duties as requestedFollow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standardsPerform other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentPreferred Qualification:Current or prior LabCorp experience6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experienceAdditional Job Standards:Comfortability with handling biological specimensAbility to accurately identify specimensBasic computer knowledge and data entry skillsHigh level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitaskAbility to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around timesStrong communication skills; both written and verbalStrong costumer service skillsAbility to sit and/or stand for extended periods of timeAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime as neededAt Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives.
